Position consists of flexible shifts to include weekends and holidays.Major Job FunctionsThe following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Completes daily patient assignmentsRounds with the physiciansServe as resource to staff nurses, nursing assistants, monitors techs and unit secretariesAssists with procedures, checks ordersResponsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unitEvaluates daily patient acuityFocuses on patient flow and expediting patient flowResponsible for the over site of quality of patient careAssists with clinical education of staff members in the absence of Clinical Educator/Preceptor.Interfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planningExpected to take patient assignment when other staffing options have been exhaustedExpedites testing, admission and dischargesImplement process as defined by the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP)Other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training :Associate's degree in nursing requiredBachelor's degree in Nursing preferredLicensed as RN by the NC Board of Nursing or qualifies to function under another Compact State RN licenseWork Experience :3 years of related clinical experience preferredBackground in leadership role or demonstrates strong leadership skillsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :Interpersonal skillsEffective organizational, teaching, and leadership skillsPhysical Requirements :Visual and auditory acuity requiredAbility to articulate clearly and succinctlyMuch standing, walking, bending, and liftingPosition may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious materialMust be able to lift 35 poundsRequired Licenses and CertificationsRN - Board Of NursingCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
