Job Description:\n\nUtility Field Technician Company: Diviney Infrastructure Group, LLC (DIG)Position: Utility Field Technician – Entry LevelEmployment Type: Full-TimeClassification: Non-Exempt / HourlyPay Range: $17.00–$21.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skillsTravel: Travel throughout Texas; overnight and multi-day travel required as projects dictate Position Summary Diviney Infrastructure Group (DIG) is seeking a dependable, motivated individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Utility Field Technician. This is a hands-on field position with the opportunity to learn multiple areas of the water and wastewater utility industry. No extensive utility experience is required. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, willing to work hard, able to travel, comfortable working outdoors, and interested in developing a long-term career in the utility infrastructure industry. The selected employee will work alongside experienced utility professionals and receive training in a variety of specialized services. Because DIG performs several different types of utility work, daily assignments may vary significantly from one project to another. This position requires flexibility. Work locations, daily assignments, starting and ending times, and total hours may vary based on project requirements, customer needs, travel, weather, and operational demands. Primary Responsibilities The Utility Field Technician will assist with and eventually perform work involving: · Sanitary sewer and storm sewer CCTV inspection · CCTV camera and crawler setup, operation, cleaning, and maintenance · Manhole inspection and condition assessment · Manhole vacuum testing · Smoke testing of sanitary sewer systems · Dye testing and investigation · Water valve locating, exercising, maintenance, and rehabilitation · Valve and utility asset locating using GPS/GNSS equipment · Flow monitoring and related field support · Sewer and utility condition assessment · Setup and operation of pumps, compressors, generators, hoses, plugs, and other field equipment · Traffic control and work-zone setup · Opening and securing manholes and utility structures · Equipment loading, unloading, cleaning, and organization · Maintaining trucks, trailers, tools, and field equipment · Collecting field data, photographs, measurements, and inspection information · Completing daily field documentation and electronic reports · Assisting supervisors and other technicians with specialized utility projects · Following company, customer, OSHA, and jobsite safety requirements · Immediately reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, equipment damage, or other jobsite incidents to the appropriate supervisor · Properly using, maintaining, securing, and caring for company-owned tools, vehicles, electronics, and specialized equipment · Protecting customer property and exercising care while working on municipal, commercial, and private property · Accurately recording work hours, project information, equipment usage, and other required field documentation · Maintaining a professional appearance and representing DIG appropriately when interacting with customers, municipal employees, contractors, engineering firms, and members of the public · Performing other duties necessary to successfully complete field projects Travel & Work Schedule This position requires travel throughout Texas. Employees must be willing and able to: · Travel out of town as projects require · Stay overnight in hotels when working outside the local area · Work early mornings and occasional extended days · Work occasional nights or weekends when project requirements dictate · Work overtime when required by project or operational needs · Adjust starting and ending times when required by project schedules, customer requirements, travel, weather, or operational conditions · Work outdoors year-round in Texas weather conditions · Adapt to changing schedules and project locations · Report to the designated shop, project site, hotel departure location, or other assigned reporting location at the required time Travel expenses and lodging will be handled in accordance with company policy. Attendance & Dependability Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position because DIG’s field operations are performed by small crews and frequently involve scheduled customer work, travel, specialized equipment, and coordinated field activities. Employees are expected to: · Report to work ready to begin at their scheduled starting time · Complete their assigned shift unless released by a supervisor · Be prepared for scheduled travel and field assignments · Notify their supervisor as early as possible when an unexpected absence or emergency prevents them from reporting to work · Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality · Accurately record all hours worked and comply with DIG’s timekeeping requirements Physical Requirements This is an active field position. Employees must be capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: · Frequently standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing · Lifting and carrying approximately 50–75 pounds · Loading and unloading tools and equipment · Working around manholes, streets, easements, construction areas, and utility facilities · Working in hot, cold, wet, dusty, and muddy environments · Safely working around moving vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, compressors, and other field equipment · Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) · Entering and exiting trucks and equipment repeatedly throughout the workday · Walking over uneven terrain and working adjacent to streets, traffic, open manholes, utility structures, and active construction areas Some projects may involve work around confined spaces. Employees will receive appropriate training before performing duties requiring specialized safety procedures. Employees are expected to stop and report work they believe presents an unsafe condition and to immediately report work-related accidents, injuries, illnesses, or hazardous conditions in accordance with company policy. Minimum Qualifications · At least 18 years of age · Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record · Reliable transportation to the normal reporting location · Ability and willingness to travel throughout Texas · Ability to pass required pre-employment and/or customer-required screenings · Ability to comply with DIG’s Drug & Alcohol Use Policy and any lawful drug or alcohol testing requirements applicable to the position · Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position · Ability to follow written and verbal instructions · Basic ability to use smartphones, tablets, and computers · Dependable and punctual · Willingness to learn new equipment and technology · Ability to work effectively as part of a small field crew · Ability to maintain accurate time, inspection, project, and equipment records · Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment for which the employee has been trained and authorized · Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, supervisors, contractors, municipal personnel, and the public Preferred Qualifications The following are helpful but not required: · Construction, utility, public works, mechanical, plumbing, equipment, or outdoor work experience · CDL or experience pulling trailers · Experience operating pumps, compressors, generators, or small equipment · Experience with GPS/GNSS or utility locating equipment · OSHA or confined-space training · Traffic-control experience · Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills · Experience working around water or wastewater systems Safety & Company Equipment Safety is a condition of employment at DIG. Employees are expected to follow company safety policies, customer requirements, applicable OSHA requirements, traffic-control procedures, equipment operating procedures, and instructions provided by supervisors. Employees may be assigned company vehicles, tools, PPE, electronics, inspection equipment, cameras, GPS equipment, pumps, compressors, trailers, and other specialized equipment. Employees are responsible for properly using, maintaining, protecting, and securing equipment assigned to them and immediately reporting loss, damage, malfunction, or unsafe conditions. Company vehicles and equipment may only be operated or used by employees who have been trained and/or authorized to do so.
