Inventory Purchasing Specialist II - Brightwater

Inventory Purchasing Specialist II – Brightwater Treatment Plant About The Role: King County Wastewater Treatment Division inventory purchasing specialists manage over 15,000 unique parts in secured stores to be available when requested and provide procurement services to the trades for all other non‑inventory items. This position is responsible for overall material readiness of all equipment at the Brightwater WWTP through the procurement and dispensing of critical spare parts and materials. What You Will Be Doing: Shipping and receiving Inventory management Maintain computerized internal purchasing and inventory records and information system Work with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and billing for accuracy Purchasing goods and services Qualifications You Bring: Knowledge of basic warehousing equipment and supplies Knowledge of heavy‑duty and industrial parts Skill in the use of personal computers, word processors and database management software Skill in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment Skill in interpreting and evaluating manuals and catalogs Competencies You Bring: Business Insight: Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals Tech Savvy: Anticipating and adopting innovations in business‑building digital and technology applications Manages Complexity: Making sense of complex, high‑quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems Decision Quality: Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward Action Oriented: Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. Working Conditions: Work Location: Brightwater Treatment Plant – 22505 WA-9, Woodinville, WA 98072 Work Schedule: Full‑time 40‑hour week with either 4/10 or 5/8 schedule Monday‑Friday, Monday‑Thursday or Tuesday‑Friday. Position is covered under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible. Union Representation: S.E.I.U. 925 (Wastewater Treatment Division) Physical Requirement: Must routinely lift packages up to 50 pounds and operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
