Introduction Our client is a hospital providing 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary services for dogs and cats in the greater Philadelphia region, and they are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. This opportunity is suited to a residency-trained or board-certified Veterinary Surgeon looking to work within a modern, state-of-the-art veterinary facility that delivers advanced patient care across a wide range of medical and surgical disciplines. Role Description and Responsibilities The Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care to a diverse caseload of canine and feline patients. Daily responsibilities include conducting consultations, performing diagnostic investigations, developing treatment plans, and carrying out both routine and emergency surgical procedures. The successful candidate will communicate effectively with clients, clearly explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care plans while maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards. Working closely with veterinary nurses and support staff, the Veterinary Surgeon will contribute to a positive team environment, uphold the highest standards of animal welfare, and support the continued growth and success of the hospital. This position is open to residency-trained or board-certified candidates. Practice Details The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing emergency and specialty services for dogs and cats throughout the greater Philadelphia region. The facility is modern, comfortable, efficient, and designed to support advanced veterinary medicine across a broad range of disciplines, including emergency care, cardiology, radiology, and surgery. Veterinary professionals have access to a comprehensive suite of diagnostic and treatment equipment, including an in-house laboratory, digital radiography with radiologist review, CT scanning, ultrasonography services, ICU facilities, telemetry monitoring, and a fully equipped endoscopy tower. The hospital's state-of-the-art infrastructure supports the management of both routine and complex medical and surgical cases, enabling clinicians to deliver exceptional standards of patient care. Team The hospital is supported by a team of five DVMs alongside a strong and dedicated support staff team. Veterinary Surgeons benefit from working within a collaborative environment where experienced nurses and support personnel assist with patient care, diagnostics, treatment coordination, and day-to-day hospital operations.
