Director Of Engineering, PDLC Agents Platform

Summary Lead the strategy, development, and delivery of Nordstrom's agentic software delivery platform. The role oversees multi-agent systems that support product development from planning through production, with a focus on engineering rigor, safety, and responsible AI adoption. Responsibilities Define the platform strategy and roadmap in alignment with business and technology goals. Lead development of agent tools and delivery lifecycle capabilities, including policy gates and guardrails. Partner with Security, UX, Architecture, Data Science, Product, and engineering teams on governance and platform standards. Drive adoption of open agent standards and establish practices for building, shipping, monitoring, and retiring agents. Grow and mentor a high-performing engineering team and support AI-native team rollouts across business domains. Requirements At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including 5 or more years in leadership roles. Experience leading platform, developer-tools, or agentic AI engineering teams. Strong technical background in production agentic AI systems, multi-agent orchestration, context engineering, and agent evaluations. Experience designing or enforcing policy-as-code controls in a regulated or high-stakes environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
