RN Unit Manager

The RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the clinical, operational, and administrative functions of an assigned nursing unit within the long-term care facility. This role ensures high-quality resident care, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with the interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate resident care on the assigned unit in accordance with care plans, physician orders, and facility policies
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
• Conduct resident assessments, monitor changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Ensure accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation and care planning
• Participate in admissions, discharges, transfers, and interdisciplinary care conferences
• Manage unit staffing needs in collaboration with nursing leadership
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance
• Promote infection prevention, resident safety, and quality improvement initiatives
• Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly
• Assist with survey preparation, audits, and maintenance of regulatory compliance
• Uphold residents' rights, dignity, and person-centered care at all times

Required Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in Ohio
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
• Previous charge nurse, supervisory, or unit-based leadership experience preferred
• Working knowledge of state, federal, and CMS long-term care regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Prior participation in survey processes and quality assurance initiatives
• Experience in a unionized environment (if applicable)
