RN Unit Manager The RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the clinical, operational, and administrative functions of an assigned nursing unit within the long-term care facility. This role ensures high-quality resident care, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with the interdisciplinary care team. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate resident care on the assigned unit in accordance with care plans, physician orders, and facility policies
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Conduct resident assessments, monitor changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
- Ensure accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation and care planning
- Participate in admissions, discharges, transfers, and interdisciplinary care conferences
- Manage unit staffing needs in collaboration with nursing leadership
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance
- Promote infection prevention, resident safety, and quality improvement initiatives
- Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly
- Assist with survey preparation, audits, and maintenance of regulatory compliance
- Uphold residents' rights, dignity, and person-centered care at all times
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in Ohio
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
- Previous charge nurse, supervisory, or unit-based leadership experience preferred
- Working knowledge of state, federal, and CMS long-term care regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Prior participation in survey processes and quality assurance initiatives
- Experience in a unionized environment (if applicable)
