Qualifications:

1. Principal licensure
2. Administrative experience preferred
3. Teaching experience-minimum 5 years experience preferred

Reports to:
Principal

Supervises:
Assists principal with teacher, classified staff, students

Terms of Employment:
The contract length will be 225 days. The salary schedule will be A & J.

Evaluation:
Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by principal.

Job Goal:
Assistant principals in the Conway Public Schools will help to support quality instruction and create a safe learning environment that fosters continual growth for staff and students in order to enhance the overall effectiveness of the Conway Public School District.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
2. Leadership Responsibilities
   1. Nurtures and sustains a culture of collaboration, trust, learning, and high expectations.
   2. Lends support in creating a personalized and motivating learning environment for students.
   3. Assists in the supervision of instruction.
   4. Helps maximize time spent on quality instruction.
   5. Assists with the collection, use, and analysis of data to identify goals, assess organizational effectiveness, and promote organizational learning.
3. Administrative Responsibilities
   1. Helps direct, observe, and evaluate work of personnel assigned to their school.
   2. Assists in securing necessary substitutes, when appropriate.
   3. Participates in interviewing staff, when appropriate.
4. Management Responsibilities
   1. Helps monitor and evaluate the management of operational systems.
   2. Promotes and protects the welfare and safety of students and staff.
   3. Aids the principal in ensuring teacher and organizational time is focused to support quality instruction and student learning.
5. Public Relations Responsibilities
   1. Promotes understanding, appreciation, and use of the community's diverse cultural, social, and intellectual resources.
   2. Builds and sustains positive relationships with families and caregivers.
   3. Safeguards the values of democracy, equity, and diversity.
6. Legal Responsibilities
   1. Considers and evaluates the potential moral and legal consequences of decision-making.
   2. Promotes social justice and ensures that individual student needs inform all aspects of school.
7. Other duties, as assigned.
