Dedicated Yard Switcher & Shuttle Driver – Home Daily – Phoenix, AZ

If you are looking for a active local driving gig in Phoenix where you aren't just sitting in a sleeper cab staring at interstate lines all night, we have a spot open on our local bakery fleet.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role handling short shuttles and yard switching. Because bakery production operates on super tight timeframes, any delays can stop the whole plant-so we need someone who can jump in and run solo right away.

Pay & What You'll Make

• Base Pay: Starts at $21.50 per hour.
• Extra Stop Pay: You get an extra $45.00 flat unload pay for every stop you finish.
• Weekly Average: Most drivers bring home a solid, reliable gross average of $1,300 every week.

The Job & Daily Duties

• The Route: You'll run short 7-mile shuttle loops back and forth between the bakery plant and the distribution warehouse.
• Yard Work: You will be swapping trailers at both yards and making sure all trailers are properly locked and sealed before you roll out.
• Backup Store Runs: If things slow down at the plant, you might jump on a quick local store delivery run so you still get your full hours for the shift.
• Physical Work: This is a physical labor job. You will be doing full hand unloads using a trailer liftgate to roll out bread trays and delivery carts.

Schedule & Shifts

• Home Time: 100% Home Daily-finish your shift, clock out, and sleep in your own bed every night.
• The Hours: Dedicated Night Shift. You need to be comfortable driving at night and navigating tight backing spaces.
• The Days: Weekend work is standard. Your days off might be split when you first start, but as you build up seniority, you can bid on consecutive days off. Extra shifts are always available if you want to make extra cash.
• Holidays: You get Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day off. Other holidays depend on your normal shift rotation.
• Parking: Secure, gated parking is available on-site for both your personal car and your truck.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Location: You must live within 50 miles of the Phoenix hub (Zip Code: 85043).
• Experience Needed: No trainees can be accepted for this role. You need:
  • At least 6 months of Class A OTR in the last 12 months, OR
  • At least 12 months of OTR in the last 5 years.
  • (Local tractor-trailer or hostling/yard switching experience counts directly toward this!)
• License & Medical: Must have an active Class A CDL and a current DOT medical card.
• Background Check: No more than 4 driving jobs in the past year, zero major preventable accidents in the last 5 years, and you must pass a hair and urine drug screen.
• Not SAP Friendly.
