Windows Infrastructure Engineer

IT Infrastructure Engineer Position OverviewTEKsystems is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer on a contract to hire basis to support ongoing operational workload and upcoming infrastructure initiatives. This role requires a technical engineer with strong hands-on experience across systems, infrastructure, virtualization, security, and cloud technologies.The engineer will work closely with the Infrastructure Architect and internal IT teams to maintain system stability, reliability, security, and performance across the environment.Core ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Administration & SupportManage physical and virtual infrastructure environmentsSupport servers, storage platforms, networking infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and cloud servicesMonitor infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, and operational healthTroubleshooting & Incident ResponseDiagnose and resolve hardware, software, system, and network issuesSupport both on-premises and cloud-based environmentsParticipate in incident response activities and operational support effortsBusiness Continuity & Disaster RecoveryAssist with disaster recovery planning and testingSupport business continuity initiativesParticipate in recovery and resiliency efforts when requiredSecurity AdministrationImplement and maintain infrastructure security controlsSupport administration of: FirewallsIDS/IPS solutionsPatch management processesSecurity hardening initiativesEnsure infrastructure systems align with security and compliance requirementsMicrosoft & Virtualization TechnologiesDeploy, maintain, and support: Windows ServerActive DirectoryDNSDHCPVMwareHyper-VAssist with infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and optimization effortsCollaborationPartner with the Infrastructure Architect and internal IT teamsContribute to infrastructure projects, operational improvements, and technology initiativesEnsure the overall stability, reliability, and performance of infrastructure servicesRequired Experience7+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related disciplinesExpert-level infrastructure administration experienceStrong technical expertise in: Active DirectoryWindows ServerVMware and/or Hyper-VInfrastructure OperationsSystems EngineeringSecurity ControlsExperience supporting cloud technologies and hybrid environmentsStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skillsExperience working within enterprise infrastructure environmentsKey SkillsInfrastructure EngineeringSystems EngineeringActive DirectoryWindows ServerSecurity ControlsCloud TechnologiesVMwareHyper-VDNSDHCPDisaster RecoveryBusiness ContinuityIncident ResponseJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anchorage, AK.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $63.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
