Job Description

Job Title: RRT
Location: Norman, Oklahoma
Schedule: 7:00AM - 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate : $45 - $48/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a RRT for a temporary assignment in Norman, Oklahoma. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a RRT:
• Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary issues by reviewing their medical history, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood gases, chest X-rays, and pulmonary function tests
• Administer treatments to improve breathing, such as oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, and inhalation therapy (e.g., nebulizer treatments)
• Set up and monitor equipment like ventilators, oxygen tanks, CPAP machines, and other respiratory devices; ensure proper function and maintenance of equipment
• Respond to emergency situations like respiratory failure, asthma attacks, or trauma, providing immediate life-saving interventions
• Educate patients and families on managing chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma, and sleep apnea; teach proper techniques for using respiratory devices and medications
• Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for patients with respiratory conditions
• Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatments, and progress; document any changes in the patient's respiratory condition or treatment plan
• Assist patients in pulmonary rehabilitation programs designed to improve respiratory function, increase exercise tolerance, and reduce symptoms
• Maintain valid state licensure and required certifications (CRT or RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Work 3-12 hour shifts with a 35-hour guarantee scheduling 36 hours
• Float between multiple work locations as assigned
