Our organization, a leading healthcare provider and the largest private employer in the tri-state region, is in search of an outstanding physician executive: Regional Vice President of Cardiology for the Cardiovascular Institute and Chief of Cardiology for Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital . We are looking for a vibrant and accomplished physician leader with a solid history of progressive leadership in an academic or complex healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified cardiologist (in any sub-specialty) with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience. Exceptional interpersonal and strategic planning abilities are essential, along with the capacity to motivate and lead diverse teams, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and align local initiatives with broader regional strategies. The successful candidate should thrive in collaborative environments and be committed to enhancing clinical excellence, academic achievement, and compassionate patient care while advancing cardiovascular services.

The Opportunity:Regional VP, Cardiology, Cardiovascular Institute:

In this pivotal role, you will help shape the future of cardiovascular care throughout the region, including the Hudson Valley and Western Connecticut, in close partnership with the Cardiovascular Institute.

• Lead the standardization of best practices, clinical protocols, and quality metrics.
• Identify and implement innovative care delivery models and technologies.
• Facilitate collaboration and integration across the region and the healthcare system.
• Engage in system-wide strategic planning for the Cardiovascular Institute, contributing to its mission and growth.
• Act as a key liaison between site-based cardiology and the broader Cardiovascular Institute.

Chief of Cardiology (Danbury Hospital & New Milford Hospital):

Provide comprehensive clinical, operational, and strategic leadership for the Division of Cardiology at both Danbury and New Milford Hospitals.

• Oversee clinical cardiology services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, quality, and safety.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of cardiologists, advanced practice providers, and support staff.
• Engage in strategic planning for program growth, technology adoption, and service expansion.
• Promote a collaborative and collegial atmosphere within the department and across other medical specialties.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Support the academic mission, including training, research, and innovation.

Clinical Role:

Approximately 50% of your efforts will be dedicated to clinical cardiology, aligned with your training and expertise.

The Cardiovascular Institute unites providers from across our system to collaboratively deliver exceptional care, educate and train future professionals, conduct research, engage with the community, and achieve new standards in high-quality care. Our Centers of Excellence (including Arrhythmia, Atherosclerosis, Heart/Lung Failure, Prevention/Wellness, Pediatric/Adult Congenital, Valvular, Vascular, and Women's Heart Health) are designed to focus on the cardiovascular patient and care team, ensuring comprehensive, expert care throughout our extensive network. With around 400 cardiologists serving patients across 100 office locations and 23 hospitals, we adopt a team-based approach to provide innovative heart care for conditions often deemed "untreatable." Given our extensive geography, we have designated regional leaders empowered to guide the region and collaborate with other representatives to ensure consistent and streamlined strategies and oversight.
