Shipping SpecialistLocation: Abilene, TX Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour Shift: 8am – 5pmLooking for Shipping Specialist jobs in Abilene where accuracy and teamwork keep products moving? This opportunity lets you play a key role in receiving incoming shipments, preparing outbound orders, and helping maintain an organized, efficient warehouse operation. The Shipping Specialist is responsible for coordinating the logistics and transportation of boilers, boiler components, and auxiliary equipment moving between Rentech, material suppliers, fabrication shops, and customer job sites.Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics training is beneficial.Experience Requirements: Previous logistics, shipping, transportation, or freight coordination experience preferred. Experience with trucking companies, freight forwarders, or shipping documentation is a plus. Manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment experience preferred.Job Duties:Schedule and coordinate daily shipments and transportation activitiesVerify shipping weights and dimensions using technical drawingsObtain and compare freight quotes from carriersSelect trucking providers and issue transportation ordersTrack shipments and communicate status updates to customers and internal teamsMaintain shipping records, load information, and transportation documentationCoordinate international inbound and outbound shipmentsPrepare shipping paperwork and compliance documentationPhotograph and document shipments for tracking purposesProcess and follow up on freight damage claimsVisit fabrication shops and loading yards to verify safe loading and transportation practicesPhysical Capabilities: Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely load, unload, and organize products in a warehouse environment.
