Registered Nurse – PICU

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12-Hour Shifts, 7:00–19:30) | Rotating Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a PICU setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage patients presenting with respiratory distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, hematology/oncology diagnoses, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempts
• Operate and monitor ventilators and inotropic drips; support CRRT and ECMO procedures as needed
• Float to the NICU as required and to the Pediatric ED for admitted patient assignments when patients are holding; cross-training to a Pediatric ED assignment is optional
• Fulfill expected weekend shift commitments (approximately 4 weekend shifts per schedule for day shift)
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Mexico (pending licensure may be considered at time of submission)
• BLS certification required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• PALS certification required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Minimum 1.5 years of PICU or relevant nursing experience
• Flu shot required prior to start
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Hands-on experience with CRRT and ECMO procedures
• Experience managing ventilated patients, including the ability to take up to 2 intubated patients when operationally necessary
• Working knowledge of inotropic drips and hemodynamic monitoring
• Prior travel nursing experience is a plus
