Retail Lending Operations Group Manager I

The Retail Lending Operations Group Manager I is responsible for the oversight and overall day to day activities of the end to end Retail Credit Loan Origination process within assigned Unit. Functions include oversight of daily activities, including pipeline management, workflow, turnaround, productivity, process management, account management, and quality monitoring.

Note: Role reports into an office 4 days per week. Must be a commutable distance from one of the following locations: Jacksonville, FL; Charlotte, NC; Mt Laurel, NJ; Portland, ME; Lewiston, ME; Boca Raton, FL; Greenville, SC.

Depth & Scope:

• Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
• Oversees single to multi-faceted Retail Credit and Loan Origination functions/disciplines
• Responsible for overseeing the day to day management of all assigned staff
• Provides daily leadership to staff with regards to all process, policy, account management, processing underwriting, and closing functions as needed
• Ensures established policy and procedure is followed by all operations team members
• Supports the commitment to WOW! Service by meeting or exceeding established Operational Metrics in each of the following areas: processing, underwriting, closing
• Responsible for ensuring accurate loan delivery
• Provides training and/or guidance to team members and sales staff (this includes management level team members)
• Supports TD Bank's mission, vision, strategic goals, quality initiatives and service standards
• Coaches and mentors operations staff
• Adheres to all audit, regulatory, and compliance requirements Lending authority required in accordance with the Bank's Retail Lending Authority and Exception Approval Policy
• Develops and maintains strong business relationships with Retail, Product, and other business partners, facilitates partnership meetings

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in addition to experience below
• 5+ Years Residential Mortgage loan experience of conventional, FHA, and VA loans and Consumer Loan experience
• Must have management experience 5+ years with overall responsibility for processing, underwriting, and closing of residential mortgage loans
• Extensive working knowledge of residential loan documentation, complete knowledge of FNMA DU and FHLMC LP automated underwriting systems
• Must also be familiar with mortgage documentation for jumbo loans, FHA VA and niche products such as Alt-A loans
• CMB certification
• FHA DE and / or VA LAPP designations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent PC skills and familiarity with standard office equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, possessing excellent organizational, analytical and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of regulatory, Investor and departmental policies for compliance and residential lending laws
• Knowledge of CRA products and Industry
• Project management skills are required
• Fast paced environment; ability to multi-task effectively
• Based on business volume and turn times additional hours and/or weekend hours may be required
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
• Ability to think out of the box in structuring and processing loan requests
• Strong pipeline management experience preferred

OCC Language:

• This position falls within the definition of Loan Originator as defined under Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.36, and the definition of Mortgage Loan Originator as defined under the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), 12 U.S.C. 5102 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 12 CFR Part 1007
• Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under the standards established by Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.36
• Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry) in accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), 12 U.S.C. 5102 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 12 CFR Part 1007
• Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report check, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority, are required by federal law for this position
