Box Truck Driver
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Box Truck Driver to support transportation and delivery of materials, equipment, and products to internal and external customers. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a box truck to ensure timely, accurate, and secure deliveries while complying with all safety, DOT, and company requirements. This position plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
- Transportation & Delivery: Safely operate a box truck to deliver and pick up materials, equipment, and products according to scheduled routes and customer requirements.
- Loading & Unloading: Load and unload materials using appropriate material handling equipment while ensuring proper securement to prevent damage during transport.
- Shipping Verification: Verify shipments by checking quantities, part numbers, and delivery documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Customer Interaction: Maintain professional communication with customers and internal teams during deliveries and pickups.
- Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report vehicle issues, defects, or maintenance needs promptly.
- Documentation: Complete delivery logs, bills of lading, proof of delivery, and other required transportation documentation accurately and on time.
- Compliance: Adhere to DOT regulations, traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures at all times.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all safety guidelines, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL not required for box truck operation)
- Previous box truck, delivery, or commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or lift gates
- Basic computer or mobile device skills for logging deliveries and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday.
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, push and pull.
- Perform grasping, handling, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Maintain manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools, equipment, machinery controls, and computer devices as required.
- Safely operate hand tools, light power tools, and rotating equipment as required by the position.
- Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position.
- Ability to climb and descend ladders, stairs, platforms, and work areas safely as required by the position
Work Environment:
- The need to work safely around manufacturing processes and equipment while following all applicable safety policies and procedure
- Varying temperatures, including temperatures occasionally above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
- Moderate to high levels of noise in designated production areas.
- Outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and other environmental elements, as business needs require.
- Welding operations, including exposure to welding arcs, sparks, heat, and airborne particulates in designated production areas.
Time Travel Required:
- Local travel required; overnight travel not expected
