Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Leavenworth, KS. This role is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, meeting with prospective borrowers, and guiding them through the loan application and approval process. Daily activities include evaluating borrower financial information, recommending appropriate loan products, and collaborating with processing and underwriting teams to ensure accurate and timely approvals. The Mortgage Loan Officer will maintain strong relationships with customers, real estate professionals, and internal partners, while ensuring compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The role also involves proactively developing new business opportunities, following up on leads, and supporting the bank’s community-focused mission. Qualifications Experience as a Loan Officer with a strong understanding of borrower needs and lending practices. Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending processes, including local and federal regulations. Familiarity with Underwriting standards and documentation requirements to support accurate loan decisions. Demonstrated strength in Customer Service, with the ability to communicate clearly and build trust-based relationships. Proven ability to meet production goals while maintaining high ethical standards and regulatory compliance. Strong analytical and financial evaluation skills, including the ability to review credit, income, and collateral. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with comfort working in a team-oriented, on-site environment. Basic proficiency in loan origination systems and common office software (e.g., MS Office). High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in business, finance, or related field is preferred.
