Registered Nurse II - PCU - Days

Job Summary/Purpose Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Minimum Training and Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American RedCross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) also required. NIHSS preferred but not required. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outside in temperature extremes, from elevated areas, in confined/cramped spaces, kneeling positions, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching operations, gross motor and fine manipulation. Ability to reach overhead, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows/shoulders, use both legs, balance and coordination, and lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from floor or 36 inches, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs., exert up to 50 lbs. of force. Visual and hearing acuity requirements. Ability to deal with stressful situations, work rotating shifts and overtime, latex safe environment, and respirator use as selected positions.
