Engineer IV - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Engineer IV - Water/Wastewater to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This senior technical role will provide engineering direction across projects involving treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, collection and distribution systems, storage, conveyance, and related utility infrastructure. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and project teams, helping to define scope, establish design criteria, evaluate alternatives, and deliver practical, sustainable solutions that meet regulatory, operational, and community needs.


Key responsibilities include managing multidisciplinary engineering assignments from concept through construction; preparing and reviewing calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and permitting documentation; and overseeing the work of engineers, designers, and technical specialists. You will coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, lead design reviews, support procurement and construction activities, and resolve complex technical issues. The role also involves monitoring project budgets and schedules, contributing to proposals and business development, mentoring less experienced staff, and promoting consistent quality, safety, and professional standards.


Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering, or a closely related discipline, along with extensive professional experience in water and/or wastewater engineering. Professional Engineer registration, or the ability to obtain it within an agreed timeframe, is required. Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, regulations, treatment processes, hydraulic modelling, and infrastructure design principles is essential. Experience with design and project management software, technical report preparation, and construction support is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, strong written and verbal communication skills, effective leadership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work in a collaborative environment.
