Job Summary We are seeking a Customer Service Representative for a temp-to-hire opportunity supporting insurance-related consumer calls in the Kansas City metro area. This role is ideal for a customer service professional who enjoys fast-paced phone work, can build rapport quickly, and is comfortable helping consumers connect with licensed insurance agents for coverage quotes. Key Responsibilities Handle a high volume of inbound or outbound consumer calls using a calling platform. Ask screening questions to identify consumer insurance needs and determine next steps. Connect qualified consumers with licensed insurance agents through live call transfers. Accurately document call details while navigating multiple systems. Follow scripts, call procedures, compliance expectations, and privacy requirements. Meet performance expectations for call activity, quality, attendance, and successful transfers. Compensation and Benefits Pay: $17 per hour. Job type: Temp-to-hire. Schedule: Monday through Friday. Work arrangement: Hybrid, requiring both onsite work in the Kansas City metro area and remote work. Location: Overland Park, KS. Candidates must live within commuting distance. For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required. Required Qualifications and Skills Manage high-volume consumer calls in a fast-paced call center environment. Screen consumers for insurance-related needs and determine eligibility for transfer. Complete accurate documentation while working across multiple systems. Support successful live transfers to licensed insurance agents. 1 to 2 years of customer service, call center, outbound calling, appointment setting, or lead qualification experience. Strong professional phone communication, listening, and rapport-building skills. Ability to follow scripts, call procedures, quality standards, and privacy requirements. Comfort with short conversations, frequent rejection, and moving quickly to the next call. Proven ability to meet measurable goals while maintaining quality and accuracy. Reliable attendance, strong attention to detail, and openness to coaching. Ability to work a hybrid schedule and commute to the Kansas City metro area as required. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience completing temporary, contract, or temp-to-hire assignments through a staffing agency. Experience in insurance, financial services, or a related consumer support environment. Previous experience meeting call volume, quality, conversion, or transfer goals.
