Job Description

As a Machinist, you will set up and operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to fabricate metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines with precision. You will interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine the sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup. Utilizing a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments, you will make standard shop computations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to fabricate metal parts.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
• Determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
• Utilize machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to layout stock for machining.
• Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment.
• Determine material, parts, and equipment required.
• Modify numerically controlled programs on NC machines as needed.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in lathe, mill, and grinder operations.
• Experience with CNC mill, CNC lathe, and CNC machine operations.
• Ability to set up and operate lathe and milling machines.
• Knowledge in mill and lathe operations.
• Familiarity with basic machine shop equipment.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) expertise.
• Experience in a machine shop environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Work Environment

You will work in a machine shop environment, utilizing various tools and technologies to achieve precise machining results.

This is a Contract position based out of King of Prussia, PA.

The pay range for this position is $28.02 - $28.02/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in King of Prussia,PA.
