Job Description Albany Gastroenterology Consultants, partnering with Allied Digestive Health, is seeking a Full Time Physician Assistant (PA) to join their practice. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient duties. SUMMARY: The Physician Assistant is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for patients in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. The position must comply with the standards of care, which include assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of a plan of care and treatment, implementation of that plan, and evaluation of patient status and clinical management. Practice is conducted in collaboration with other health‑care team members. Essential Skills Knowledge of pertinent medical and drug information necessary to examine and treat gastroenterology patients. Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Must have, or be eligible for, hospital privileges. Comfortable multitasking with a sharp attention to detail. Can perform duties accurately, efficiently, and timely. Demonstrates exemplary patient service skills and displays courteousness and respect. Excellent interpersonal skills, remaining cordial throughout the workday and maintaining patience under occasional stressful situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills: Electronic medical records, MS Office. Strong time‑management and organizational skills. Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA laws and safeguards, and will always follow these guidelines. Requirements NY license in good standing. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; primary care or GI experience is a plus. Current DEA certificate.
