CT TechWith limited supervision, executes computed tomography images. Gathers histories and prepares needed information to complete the patient's record. Notifies appropriate personnel for equipment services and preventive maintenance. Orders and stocks supplies. Maintains a professional environment through a clean and orderly department, adherence to dress code, and personal actions. Maintains quality control on all assigned instrumentation. Assists with invasive procedures as needed. Manipulates computerized image data to obtain interpretive information and archiving. Collects patient histories and other related information, coordinating and communicating with the radiologist and all others as needed. Administers contrast media under the direction of a physician and in accordance with department policy. Responsible for all records and charting of information related to individual cases. Transports patients in a secondary capacity when transporters are not available and dictated by necessity. Reports malfunctions and problems to the proper persons, including management personnel. Participates in in-service and training activities as necessary. Maintains replenishment of supplies as needed. Carries out additional duties as assigned. Produces quality images for review. Prepares accurate records. Completes quality control on equipment and assigned rooms. Orders and restocks supplies and linens. Reports all equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Verifies patient name, date of birth, and ID number. Verifies orders in the chart. Follows department protocol for all exams. Continuously monitors the patient through the exam. Uses radiation protection for patients and self. Assists with exams when necessary. Effectively uses electronic documentation systems. Completes studies within the electronic documentation system. Creates new studies in the electronic documentation system.
