Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Ottumwa, IA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 19:00 - 07:00

Job Description: The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room will provide high-quality care to patients primarily in an adult population. This position requires strong assessment and critical thinking skills as you will be handling an average of 40 visits per day with a patient ratio of 1:6.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care and evaluate patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Monitor and document patient progress in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety regulations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an acute care facility, preferably in the Emergency Room.
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and TNCC certifications.
• Iowa RN license must be active and in good standing.
• Mandatory reporter certification for both child and adult required.
• Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug screening.
• Required immunization titers must be current (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB) within the last 12 months.
