Bartender

Velvet Cowboy/C.R.O.C is hosting Walk-In Hiring Events on August 27th and 28th for our upcoming Upper West Side cocktail bar. Please go to Maison Pickle, 2315 Broadway, 12pm-3pm to participate. 

Please bring two forms of ID.

We'll be hiring the following Front of House positions:

• Server
• Server Assistant
• Junior Bartender
• Senior Bartender
• Barback
• Host
• Food Runner

The majority of the positions we hire for will be at our upstairs bar, Velvet Cowboy. While responsibilities for each position differ, we are looking for people who:

• Want to work in a high volume environment
• Fit in with a casual, fun atmosphere
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency when needed
• Truly enjoy hospitality
• Take pride in serving good drinks

Experience requirements for each position vary. Entry level positions (Server Assistant and Barback) may be considered without prior restaurant experience. Each position is included in the tip pool at varying weights. Our staff structure is made to support in house promoting. Many opportunities for our staff to prove themselves and move into roles with more responsibility and higher compensation will be available in the future.

Servers are expected to have a basic understanding of classic cocktails and spirits. Some serving experience is required. Cocktail bar serving experience is preferred. 

Junior Bartenders are expected to know their way around common called classic cocktails and basic techniques. Advanced spirit and cocktail knowledge is not required. We're looking for personable people who can build regulars and make sure our guests have a great experience. 

Senior Bartenders are expected to have advanced spirit and cocktail knowledge including the ability to execute well balanced bespoke drinks to order, and experience leading bar teams through shifts. Those who apply for this position should be prepared to have their spirit and cocktail knowledge tested in an initial interview.

Our downstairs bar has an entirely different atmosphere and will require different skillsets. C.R.O.C. is a high end, low volume cocktail bar. A few positions will be available there.
