Remote Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Medicare Annual Wellness Visits

Welltality is hiring Certified Medical Assistants to conduct Medicare Annual Wellness Visit screenings by phone.

If you have clinical experience, enjoy working with older patients, and want to move away from the commute and physical demands of a traditional clinic environment, this role gives you the opportunity to use your healthcare experience from home.

This is a phone-based position. You'll spend much of your day speaking with patients while documenting their responses in the EMR at the same time. The work is structured and performance is measured, so it's a good fit for someone who enjoys patient interaction, works efficiently, and takes pride in accurate documentation.

What You'll Do

• Conduct Medicare Annual Wellness Visit screening questionnaires with patients by phone
• Make outbound calls to scheduled and eligible patients
• Document patient responses accurately in the EMR during the call
• Assist eligible patients with scheduling their wellness screening
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and clinic staff
• Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant documentation

This is not a traditional hands-on Medical Assistant position. There is no rooming patients, taking vitals, giving injections, or other in-office clinical work.

• Comfortable making and receiving a high volume of patient calls
• Able to speak with a patient while documenting accurately at the same time
• Most screening calls completed efficiently, generally within 20 minutes
• Consistently meets productivity and quality expectations
• Strong attention to detail with minimal documentation errors
• Dependable attendance and communication
• Receptive to coaching and willing to ask questions when unsure

What We're Looking For

• Current Medical Assistant certification
• Experience communicating directly with patients or customers
• Strong typing and computer skills
• Ability to listen, talk, and document simultaneously - this is one of the most important skills for success in this position
• Familiarity with common medications, medical conditions, and healthcare terminology
• Comfortable learning and working in EMRs and Microsoft Office
• Able to work independently in a remote environment while staying connected with your team
• Spanish/English bilingual skills are strongly preferred, but not required

Your Work Environment

• Fully remote
• 35–40 hours per week
• Monday–Friday schedule
• Private, quiet workspace where patient conversations cannot be overheard
• Reliable high-speed internet
• Much of your workday will involve speaking with patients while documenting simultaneously

Compensation

• $17–$20/hour based on experience
• Monthly performance-based bonus opportunities
• Consistent weekday schedule
