We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead day-to-day HR and payroll activities for a growing organization in Ohio. This contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who can work independently, support employees across the full HR lifecycle, and help maintain compliant, efficient people operations in a fast-moving environment. The role will oversee core functions such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, onboarding, training compliance, and payroll administration while serving as the primary HR point of contact.
Responsibilities: • Manage daily human resources operations, serving as the primary contact for employee questions, policy guidance, and HR administrative support. • Administer payroll and employee compensation activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees. • Coordinate onboarding, employment status changes, compensation updates, and other personnel transactions while maintaining accurate employee records in the HRIS. • Monitor required training, certifications, and compliance documentation to support regulatory and organizational requirements. • Support benefits administration by handling employee deductions, employer contributions, and communication with carriers or plan providers. • Prepare and maintain HR metrics and reports related to areas such as attendance, recruitment activity, and employee turnover. • Assist with employee relations matters, performance management processes, workplace investigations, and other sensitive HR issues as needed. • Evaluate compensation and benefits practices by reviewing market trends and comparable programs to help keep offerings competitive. • Maintain HR documentation, correspondence, meeting records, and other departmental materials with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.• At least 2 years of experience in human resources, with hands-on exposure to payroll, compensation, and HR administration.
• Strong working knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, onboarding, and core HR processes.
• Experience using HRIS platforms, including Workday or similar systems, to manage employee information and transactions.
• Solid understanding of payroll practices for organizations with 101 to 500 employees.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred; relevant HR certification is a plus.
