Program Support Assistant

We are hiring a Program Support Assistant to provide onsite administrative support at a federal research center in Manhattan, KS. Working alongside administrative professionals, you will help the team stay organized, meet deadlines, and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. This position requires the ability to obtain federal facility access (PIV / HSPD-12 credentialing).

Location: Onsite — USDA ARS Center for Grain and Animal Health Research (CGAHR), 1515 College Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66506

Employment type: Full-time

Compensation: $35.54/hr+ DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to help administrators and staff stay organized and complete their work
• Manage calendars, appointments, and deadlines so nothing is missed
• Draft and proofread professional emails, letters, and documents with correct spelling and grammar
• Coordinate and collaborate with administrators, support personnel, management, and clients
• Perform basic accounting, bookkeeping, and billing support tasks
• Make sound independent decisions on how best to handle daily tasks

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365 suite
• Aptitude in basic mathematics and general accounting, bookkeeping, and billing
• Ability to learn new computer programs quickly
• Ability to work onsite in Manhattan, KS and to obtain and maintain required federal facility access
