Bartender/Server Position at Home Run Inn

Home Run Inn is looking for a friendly and service-oriented Bartender/Server to join our restaurant team in Little Village-Chicago!

As a Bartender/Server, you will be the face of our dining experience, ensuring guests feel welcome, satisfied, and eager to return. Your primary responsibilities include setting up the Bar, making cocktails, pouring drinks, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and pleasant dining environment.

In the event your combined wages ($12.96 hourly rate and your earned tips) don't add up to $17.05 Home Run Inn will still guarantee you are paid $17.05 per hour.

Must be available to work weekend/evening shifts, along with some weekdays.

Responsibilities:

• Sell food and beverages to bar guests in a friendly, timely and responsible manner.
• Work from verbal and written instructions
• Mix, prepare and serve drink orders, using standard recipes.
• Practice responsible alcohol service: monitor alcohol consumption and age requirements.
• Operate cash POS system. Accept payment provide change.
• Presents menu, actively sells and suggests menu items, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
• Relay orders to kitchen and serve courses from kitchen and service bars.
• Assists in the service of food and beverage to tables, pre-bussing functions and the set-up / takedown of buffet table.
• Request stock and check bar to monitor stock levels.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar, station, and guest areas throughout the shift and at the end of the night.
• Monitor equipment and beverage systems.
• Promotes upcoming and special events to guests.
• Prepare bar top for next shift.
• Use POS System, calculator and common cleaning supplies.
• Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age to pour alcohol
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Frequently be able to safely lift bags, cases, and stack weight up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Have working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Prior experience in a server or customer service role preferred but not required.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must obtain Food Handler and Basset certification within 30 days of being hired.
