Field Chief Technology Officer (Field CTO)

Celonis, a global leader in Process Intelligence and Process Mining technology, is seeking a visionary and strategic Field CTO with a “learn-it-all” mindset to serve as a high‑impact technical advisor for our most strategic prospects and customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to C‑level executives, aligning their long‑term strategic goals with Celonis' technical vision.
• Lead the overarching data, cloud, and innovation strategy for our largest global accounts, utilizing methodologies like Capability Mapping to identify high‑value opportunities.
• Architect first‑of‑a‑kind solutions using emergent technologies such as Agentic AI to solve complex enterprise challenges.
• Partner with Sales and Value Engineering to drive revenue through new customer acquisition and strategic up‑selling.
• Act as a critical feedback loop between Product & Engineering teams and the market, ensuring the voice of the customer shapes future offerings.
• Develop and deliver customer‑facing position papers, assets, and presentations that establish our brand as a leader in architecture and innovation.

Qualifications

• 15 to 20 years of relevant experience, ideally including roles such as CTO at a consulting firm, Field CTO at a software vendor, or Director/VP of Enterprise Architecture in a major corporation.
• Proven track record of presenting complex technical visions to C‑suite stakeholders with emphasis on business value.
• Deep experience in Enterprise Modernization, EA Methodologies, and a robust understanding of Agentic AI.
• Ability to pivot from high‑level architecture diagrams to hands‑on demos.
• Excellent background in Data Architecture, API ecosystems, and cloud‑native SaaS solutions such as Salesforce and ServiceNow.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle.
• MSc degree in Computer Science or an equivalent IT‑related field.

Preferred

• Experience with Celonis, OCPM and Case‑Centric Data Pipelines.
• Certifications: TOGAF/Zachmann, AWS/Azure/GCP, and ESB/ETL certifications (e.g., Mulesoft, Informatica).
• Experience across at least two domains (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) and two industries (e.g., Pharma, Banking, Aerospace).

Salary and Compensation

Base salary range for the role in New York: $191,000–$255,000 USD. Total compensation includes base salary, bonus/commission, equity and benefits (health, dental, life, 401(k), and paid time off).
