TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Rochester, New York, 14626!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of recent experience required License: New York license required in hand to submit Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Mandatory competency with phlebotomy Ability to place IVs Description: RNs need to have a mandatory competency with phlebotomy. Placing IVs is a required skill for any RN in this position. Day and evening patient ratios are 5 to 1, with possible stretches of 6 to 7. Night ratios are expected to be 6 to 7 to 1, with potential stretches of 8 to 10 if staff calls in. Patient Care Technicians are available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and daily living activities. First-timers are accepted for this role. Travelers will be required to float between like units but will not practice outside of their scope. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are essential skills. Use of Rapid Response Teams is required. Experience with peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management is necessary. Knowledge of isolation precautions is important. Common patient diagnoses include acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis. Special equipment includes BIPAP, CPAP, high-flow, ventilators, tracheostomy tubes, and chest tubes. Experience with computerized documentation is preferred. Standard patient age groups served are adults and geriatrics. Training for modules may be required prior to starting, with a maximum of 10 hours billable. All travelers are required to float as needed. Charting experience in specific systems is a hard requirement. Background checks will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Return staff policy applies after one year.
