Ozark National Life Insurance is hiring a full-time Policy Issue Specialist to join our team!

The hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, on site at our downtown Kansas City, MO office location.

The Policy Issue Specialist is responsible for reviewing and processing life insurance applications through the final stages of underwriting and policy issuance. This role ensures the accuracy of policy information, applies underwriting decisions, processes policy changes, and provides support to agents and internal departments regarding pending and issued policies.

This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Review final application documentation for accuracy prior to policy issuance.
• Verify underwriting approvals and apply ratings as directed by Underwriters.
• Review underwriting rate and reason codes for accuracy and completeness.
• Review amendments and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Issue policies using the appropriate effective date.
• Settle policies and apply premium payments.
• Process policy increase and reduction requests submitted by policyholders.
• Respond to phone calls and emails from agents and internal departments regarding quotes, pending policies, and undelivered policies.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the policy issuance process.
• Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

• Excellent clerical and administrative skills, including document management and filing.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in standard office software and computer systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Previous experience in insurance operations, policy administration, underwriting support, or a related administrative role.
• Familiarity with life insurance products and policy issuance processes.
• Experience working in a fast-paced office environment with high-volume processing responsibilities.
