POSITION PURPOSE

This position will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our IT infrastructure, as well as providing technical assistance to end users.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, printers, and network devices. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and backups, to ensure the stability and security of our IT environment. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, either independently or by collaborating with the appropriate teams or vendors. Provide technical support and guidance to end users, both in person and remotely, ensuring timely resolution of their IT‑related inquiries and problems. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and applications. Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies and software solutions to improve efficiency and productivity. Develop and maintain documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles. Conduct training sessions to educate users on IT best practices and promote proper use of technology resources. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for their integration into our IT infrastructure. Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues and provide technical support to end users. Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations. Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.

EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) Proven experience as an IT Generalist or similar role, with a broad understanding of IT systems, hardware, software, and networks Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management in a Windows environment Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) preferred Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper‑V preferred Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) preferred Knowledge of IT security best practices and experience implementing security measures preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE

Typical schedule is Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑5 PM Some projects and support may require after‑hours and/or weekend work Typically works inside an office environment Some work in the plant may be required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
