Position Retail Store Manager – Outer Banks, North Carolina Job Summary This position is crucial to the operation of Kitty Hawk Kites. The Retail Store Manager maximizes customer and staff satisfaction, maintains company policies and procedures, and embodies the company vision, mission, and values while working with the Retail Operations Manager. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Operate within KHK Inc. core values, mission, and purpose statement Carefully select and train staff Maintain appropriate staffing levels during various seasons and holidays Attend company functions and meetings as required Supervise and motivate staff Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive store environment Manage operational reports: staff schedules, opening & closing reports, payroll reports, sales documentation, marketing reports, budget projections, transfer forms and packing slips Supervise merchandising and maintain stock levels, ensuring items are back‑stocked or available from other stores Ensure daily cash deposits and financial accuracy Address maintenance needs and keep the store well cared for Assist the buyer with product feedback and current trends Education And Experience Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business, technical, and regulatory materials Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public Ability to calculate figures (discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, etc.) Application of basic algebra and geometry concepts Problem‑solving in varied, non‑standardized situations Interpretation of instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form Working Conditions The role is primarily indoor in a climate‑controlled environment, with occasional outdoor work in natural elements. Noise level is moderate. Physical Requirements Roughly one third of the time involves climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; one to two thirds of the time involves standing, walking, sitting, or reaching; two thirds of the time involves handling or feeling with the hands, and communicating. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly is required. Vision required: close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
