Registered Nurse, OR

The position requires experience in GYN, Spine, Hands, Neuro, Ortho, Oncological Breast, and Microvascular cases. You will work in a facility with 11 ORs that are open 24/7. During the day, 10 rooms are active with 1 room reserved for trauma. There are 2 booked rooms and 1 dedicated trauma room overnight. All contracted team members must be aware that the first week will be dedicated to onboarding and may not reflect a contractor's primary shift preference. Contractors may need to keep this first week open for a varied schedule Monday through Friday. For example, if contracted for night shifts, you may be required to attend onboarding on day shifts. Candidates contracted for three 12-hour shifts may be asked to attend four 10-hour shifts during their onboarding week. Schedules are set in advance to allow for orientation on all shifts and cannot be changed. Staff are expected to rotate between days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on departmental needs. Your contracted shift may change if rotating to cover weekends or overnights. Staff may be required to cover one weekend (up to two weekend days) and up to one week of overnights per 4-week schedule based on department needs. For example, your week may include two day shifts and one night shift based on departmental requirements. Schedulers will ensure time is built in between flip shifts. On-call staff must be ready to arrive within 30 minutes of receiving a call. Staff are expected to rotate between inpatient and outpatient settings as required by the department. When cases end early in the outpatient setting, travelers will rotate to finish their shifts as needed. Schedule changes and last-minute requests for time off will be assessed based on unit needs. Contracted staff will be accountable to established policies, standard operating procedures, best practices, and a code of conduct. Quality preceptorship and learner evaluation is an expectation for all clinicians.
