Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapist Specialty: Inpatient Rehabilitation Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Active Occupational Therapy License Certifications: Active BLS Certification Must-Have: Prior OT Experience, Inpatient Experience Description: Functions as a member of the rehabilitation team. Provides quality care for patients referred for services by a licensed physician. Initiates patient care through evidence-based assessment. Documents findings in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR). Submits a detailed plan of care to the referring provider for approval and signature within 24 hours of completing evaluation. Submits accurate treatment charges daily in the EMR. Maintains treatment records, statistical data, and patient schedules for treatment referrals. Monitors patient progress and adjusts the treatment plan as needed. Makes recommendations for referrals when necessary. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants in patient care. Provides education as needed to enhance clinical skills. Continuously observes all equipment for hazards to assure patient safety. Displays positive behavior to promote effective interpersonal relationships. Contributes to enhancing the productivity and efficient operation of the department. Maintains professional knowledge, licensing, and skills. Promotes understanding of the field of occupational therapy. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
