Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities include:

Monitor and provide nursing care for hospitalized surgical patients

Perform post-operative patient assessments and pain management

Conduct diagnostic laboratory testing

Place and maintain IV catheters and drains

Change bandages and manage wound care needs

Obtain radiographs (x-rays) and assist with diagnostics

Administer medications, fluids, and injections (IV/IM)

Assist with surgical support when needed

Draw blood and perform clinical laboratory procedures

Maintain accurate patient records and treatment updates

Fill prescriptions and document patient charges

Assist with emergency surgical cases when applicable

Educate pet owners on discharge instructions and medication administration

What We're Looking For

Veterinary Technician experience required

Interest in specialty and surgical medicine preferred

Knowledge of pharmacology and ability to calculate accurate drug and fluid doses

Comfortable handling and restraining patients safely and compassionately

Strong attention to detail and clinical judgment

Ability to work independently overnight while collaborating with the broader hospital team

Excellent communication and client service skills

Experience & Education

Minimum 2–3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting required

Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred, but not required
