Inventory Control & Material Flow Analyst

Hino Trucks is looking for an Inventory Control & Material Flow Analyst to join our team. This position will lead inventory accuracy, auditing, and process-improvement efforts across Hino’s Parts Distribution Centers in both Southaven, MS and Ontario, CA. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Parts & Warehouse Operations, this role partners with the Assistant Warehouse Manager(s) and the Shift Supervisor to resolve variances and implement inventory SOPs. This role owns cycle counting, variance resolution, material flow improvements, and standardized SOP development across both sites, driving the operations towards 99% inventory accuracy by value and location while ensuring readiness for external audits. Key Responsibilities Include: Reporting & Documentation: Generate, schedule, and file routine and ad hoc inventory reports (on-hand, aging, variance, cycle count status) and maintain organized records for audit readiness Cycle Counting & Auditing: Perform and oversee cycle counts and physical inventories using ABC-classification approach; investigate and resolve discrepancies and between system and physical counts Variance Management: Track, document, and root-cause inventory variances by dollar value and by location. Drive corrective action plans to close recurring gaps Material Moves % Flow: Partner with warehouse management to identify, plan, and execute material moves and slotting changes that improve pick efficiency, space utilization, and inventory integrity Continuous Improvement: Champion process improvements across receiving, put-away, picking, and cycle counting to progress the operation toward 99% inventory accuracy SOP Development: Draft, maintain, and standardize inventory related SOPs across PDC locations. Ensure documentation meets external auditor compliance requirements Audit Support: Serve at the primary point of contact for internal and external inventory audits preparing documentation, samples, and variance explanations as requested Cross-Functional Coordination: Work cross-functionally with Planning/Purchasing, Customer Service, and operations teams to align inventory data with system transactions (WMS/ERP) Team Leadership: Train and develop inventory control staff; assign cycle count workload and review team output for accuracy and completeness Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner closely with the Assistant Warehouse Manager(s) and the Shift Supervisor to resolve variances, coordinate material moves and roll out inventory SOPs on the floor Multi-site Standardization: Travel to the Ontario, CA PDC (up to 25%) to align inventory practices, cycle count standards, and SOP execution across both facilities, ensuring consistent compliance at each site KPI Ownership & Reporting: Own the inventory accuracy KPI (99% by dollars and by location) across both PDCs and report progress, trends, and corrective actions to the Sr. Manager, Parts & Warehouse Operations on a regular cadence Preferred Qualifications Include: Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree 3+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related materials management role – ideally in a distribution or manufacturing environment Working knowledge of cycle counting methodologies (ABC classification), variance analysis, and inventory accuracy metrics Proficiency with WMS/ERP systems Experience supporting or participating in external audits (e.g., PwC or similar) Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills Comfortable presenting variance data and improvement plans to management Ability to work on the warehouse floor as needed to validate counts and locations 1+ years of experience leading or supervising warehouse associate roles preferred Working Conditions: Primarily based at the PDC warehouse facility in Southaven, MS; regular time on the warehouse floor to validate counts, locations, and material moves Standard business hours with occasional flexibility required around cycle count schedules, physical inventory, and audit deadlines Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and to stand/walk for extended periods during counts #J-18808-Ljbffr Hino Trucks
