Job Summary & Responsibilities As the Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for the requisition, inventory, and management of parts, tools and equipment to assure efficient and effective operation of the plant. You will be an integral part of a best-in-class maintenance program by supporting the inventory and planning processes through accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM. This is an on-site role located in Shelbyville, IN. Properly managing documentation records related to deliveries and inventory transactions. Maintaining accountability for all tools, equipment, and supplies. Maintaining a clean and organized storeroom and Shipping/Receiving areas. Working with the local leadership team by ordering parts and equipment as needed and maintaining optimized reorder points. Consistently maintaining strong inventory accuracy, while using sound practices to resolve issues and notify management of significant discrepancies. Reviewing obsolete parts and sharing with management options on how to handle. Take an active role in shutdown planning and proactively updates part availability. Operating the forklift for parts movement. Supporting periodic inventory audits. Actively maintaining the Bar/QR code labelling program. Responsible for coordination of plant mobile/EZMax Mobile devices. Coordinate and conduct onsite Maximo Training for new hires and at times assist other POET facilities with Maximo support and troubleshooting. Learn and understand the basic operation of the plant process to understand and anticipate plant needs. Coordinate work functions with fellow team members and other departments within POET. Always maintain a team environment and champion POET in the community. Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times. Maintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET’s products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality. Support additional duties as needed within a collaborative team environment. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience with maintenance management systems such as Maximo is a plus. UpTime Elements Maintenance Reliability Certification or equivalent certification is a plus. Ability to achieve and maintain forklift certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn computerized accounting systems. Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively with the team. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. Detail oriented, with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities; able to exercise independent judgement. Honesty, confidentiality, and ethical behavior in all business matters and assignments. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment. Physical Requirements & Work Environment This role has physical requirements, including occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, opening valves, occasional bending and twisting while lifting up to 50 pounds, data entry while seated more than one hour, walking up to two miles per day, working at heights and in confined spaces, and exposure to temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees. PPE required. Use of hand and power tools. Ability to drive a POET vehicle; motor vehicle record check conducted pre-employment and annually thereafter. Random drug and alcohol testing during employment. Team members may be exposed to multiple environments (plant, laboratory, office) with high noise, moving parts, dust, chemicals, and varied temperatures. Due to the physical and safety-sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
