Marketing Events & Partnerships Manager

Overview:- Workstyle: This is a remote position; however, to be eligible for hire, candidates must reside in a state where Custom Ink is registered to do business as an employer. Eligible states currently include:
- AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, IL, KY, MA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA
- Reports to: Director of Marketing
- Travel Expectations: Minimal travel; will be determined by business needs and may include occasional trips for key meetings, collaboration opportunities, or area-connected events. Event season requires increased travel, estimated 2x a month.
- Physical Requirements/Demands: This is a primarily sedentary, home-based role that requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer. The role involves regular use of standard office equipment, such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Occasional onsite meetings and offsite events may require standing for extended periods, moving between locations, and lifting or transporting materials weighing up to 25-35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

- 3-5 years of experience in event planning & execution, with a proven track record of managing high-touch sponsorships and lead-generation programs.
- Experience working with Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing teams to create events with positive ROI.
- Proven ability to identify, pitch, and manage co-marketing relationships with complementary B2B brands and organizations.
- An open mindset comfortable with both coaching and ambiguity; able to test event formats not done before in a mature startup environment.
- Self-driven, taking ownership of your job with minimal supervision
- Pure Strategists or Delegators: This role is not for a leader who prefers to design a strategy from afar and hand off the execution, logistics, or onsite management to a supporting team. This is a dedicated individual contributor role that requires a builder who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to handle both the high-level playbook and the tactical, hands-on logistics.
- The B2C or Hospitality Specialist: If your experience is primarily focused on consumer site planning, catering, hotel-run events, or social gatherings, this role will not align. We are looking for an expert deeply rooted in corporate B2B environments who understands how to leverage events for business buyer personas.
- The Enterprise-Scale Overseer: If your comfort zone is limited to managing massive corporate budgets ($1M+) where the heavy lifting is outsourced to large external agencies or massive internal teams, the agile nature of our mid-scale ($300K+) budget won't be a great match. We need someone who thrives on optimizing and maximizing a budget independently.
- The Playbook Follower: This role is not for someone who is most comfortable operating within deeply established event systems or executing pre-made formats. We are seeking a creative architect who is energized by building a diverse event portfolio-including mixed trade shows, intimate client dinners, and webinar series-from scratch.
- Own the Omnichannel Event Strategy: Architect and execute a diverse B2B event portfolio from scratch-including mixed trade shows, conferences, virtual webinars, and intimate regional client gatherings-aligning the event strategy and budget (upwards of $300K) to our key buyer personas and business goals.
- Manage End-to-End Onsite Logistics: Take complete ownership of all event logistics, from vendor negotiations, travel coordination, and shipping swag, to acting as the primary onsite manager and professional face of the Swag.com brand.
- Drive Creative Activations & Field Events: Elevate our trade show presence by pioneering creative, high-impact activations (like VIP dinners and partner sponsorships) and organizing intimate regional gatherings to drive customer learning, retention, and sales opportunities.
- Source Speakers & Content: Collaborate closely with Marketing and Customer Success teams to identify, secure, and prep customer and internal speakers for high-touch trade show engagements and content-driven webinar series.
- Cultivate Strategic Partnerships : Identify, pitch, and manage co-marketing relationships with complementary B2B brands and organizations alongside marketing and sales leadership to expand our reach into new prospect audiences.
- Optimize Lead Generation & ROI: Maintain a data-driven mindset by owning the post-event handoff, tracking performance metrics, connecting event activities to pipeline creation, and clearly reporting on total event ROI to cross-functional teams.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with marketing, sales and customer teams to ensure successful event follow-ups, pipeline creation and ROI reporting.
- Successfully identifies and executes new, impactful trade shows and events
- Develops and expands event presence through additional activations and partnerships.
- Consistently coordinates seamless event logistics and attendee management.
- Demonstrates positive ROI from events by effectively collaborating with other teams and partnering with sales team to drive post-event conversions.
- For this salaried, exempt position, the pay range is $60,000-$84,000. Placement within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: knowledge, skills, years & depth of experience, and equity with internal team members.
