The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in a fast-paced distribution environment by accurately picking, packing, and preparing inbound and outbound shipments. This position works on direct lines to meet established order rates, uses warehouse management systems to track and ship products, and collaborates with team members to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer orders in a distribution and warehouse setting with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Handle inbound and outbound shipments, including loading and unloading materials as needed.
• Load racking systems and push carts with pulled orders to prepare items for packing and shipping.
• Work on direct lines where parts are picked, transferred to packing, and prepared for shipment, consistently meeting targets of approximately 30 orders per hour.
• Use a warehouse management system (WMS/ERP) to track inventory, process orders, and ship products.
• Operate basic PC functions and navigate computer systems to input, review, and update order information.
• Scan parts and materials to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory tracking.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with others to fulfill daily order requirements.
• Lift parts and products and place them into boxes or containers for shipment, following established procedures.
• Perform general warehouse and distribution tasks such as shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and cycle counting.
• Read and interpret order documentation to ensure correct items, quantities, and destinations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn forklift operation for future responsibilities within the warehouse.

Work Environment

This role is based in a busy distribution facility for a large national organization, operating in a traditional warehouse setting. You work on structured shifts, with current openings on 1st shift for a temporary period of approximately 5–6 weeks, with the potential to move to 2nd shift if converting to a direct role. Typical shift schedules include 7:15 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m.–11:45 p.m., and 11:30 p.m.–7:30 a.m., primarily Monday through Friday, with Sunday through Thursday schedules for third shift. The position generally offers a 40-hour workweek, with occasional mandated Saturdays during peak periods and voluntary overtime opportunities. You spend most of the day on your feet, working around racking systems, push carts, and conveyor or direct lines, handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing ladders, and moving product through the warehouse. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and efficiency, with standard warehouse attire appropriate for an active, hands-on role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterville, OH.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
