Position Purpose The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all products meet or exceed established quality standards and specifications. Through rigorous inspection and testing processes, they identify and address defects, deviations, or non-compliance issues in the manufacturing and production process. The Quality Control Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions, maintains detailed inspection records, and provides valuable feedback to enhance overall product quality and operational efficiency. Their role is crucial in upholding high-quality standards, contributing to customer satisfaction, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Responsibilities Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications. Competently use ERP software for tracking inbound materials for inspection. Perform quality inspections of receipts based on project and/or company procedures. Track, trace, inspect, and update the status of certified material using ERP software. Communicate and collaborate with other Quality Control Specialists and team members to validate product discrepancies when materials do not meet drawing specifications. Maintain clear documentation of certified material using the internal tagging system. Perform tasks to company standards to efficiently and effectively meet department goals. Communicate effectively with other team members. Maintain flexibility as priorities change throughout the shift. Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including tools and equipment. Accurately capture all labor hours in Epicor. Ensure TAIT’s five standards of care are incorporated into daily activities: Safety, Quality, Team, Schedule, and Cost. Take ownership of decisions, actions, performance, and behavior. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required. Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company. Position Requirements 2+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector or similar role. 3+ years experience working within a manufacturing shop environment. High school diploma or equivalent required Must be at least 18 years of age Knowledge in inspection tools and instruments. Knowledge of QHSE policies and procedures. Ability to interpret product drawings. Forklift certification a plus, will train as needed. Ability to troubleshoot using basic problem-solving techniques. Comfortable working in a shop environment. Proficiency using MS Office a plus. Knowledge of Epicor, Slack, and/or Box a plus. Communication skills which include, but are not limited to, written and oral communication, active listening, nonverbal communication. Willingness to learn and ask questions. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility with work schedule, ability to work additional hours, beyond standard schedule, in any given week as needed. Overtime may be needed for this role to meet production schedules.
