Certified Prosthetist Orthotist/Certified Orthotist (CRO Specialist)

We are dedicated to the advancement of patient care through excellent service and product technology. We have an immediate opportunity to join our growing Ortho Life Orthopedic platform. We are currently seeking a full-time Certified Prosthetist Orthotist, specializing in Cranial Remolding Orthosis for our Walnut Creek, CA Patient Care Facility. The candidate will evaluate, fabricate, and custom fit artificial limbs and orthopedic braces, design and make prosthetic devices, and supervise a dynamic team. Job Responsibilities Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine appliance needs and factors affecting fit. Fit, test, and evaluate devices, making adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort. Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses and prostheses. Design orthopedic and prosthetic devices based on physician prescriptions and patient measurements. Maintain patient records in accordance with ABC and CMS standards. Make and modify plaster casts for prosthetic or orthotic fit. Select materials and components based on device design. Collaborate with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions. Repair, rebuild, and modify prosthetic and orthopedic appliances. Construct and fabricate appliances or supervise others in construction. Train and supervise orthopedic and prosthetic assistants and technicians, including COF. Update skills by attending conferences and seminars. Show and explain appliances to healthcare workers. Maintain inventory of materials in main and satellite locations. Requirements Must be currently licensed and/or certified and in good standing with either ABC or BOC. Must have Cranial Remolding experience. Must maintain CME annually per ABC and BOC guidelines. Must practice within scope of work unless supervised. Must adhere to Pacific Medical Inc. employee handbook guidelines. Must complete HIPAA compliance, sexual harassment, and universal precautions training. Must have any additional state licensing if required. Maintain compliance with ABC facility accreditation and lead its implementation. Lead or participate in annual performance reviews with facility staff. Mandatory attendance in Pacific Medical hosted training and meetings.
