About the job:

• Evaluate suppliers on the basis of the price, quality, and speed of delivery of their products and services

• Coordinate delivery, track order status, and keep a pulse of in-progress orders

• Receive deliveries from box truck shipping (USPS, UPS, FedEx, Etc.), final mile deliveries, and semi deliveries from known suppliers.

• Safely drive a forklift in a warehouse environment, parking lot, and in a loading zone on a street.

• Verify deliveries and orders match

• Oversee warehouse inventory and ensuring materials are staged and prepared for jobs.

• Load installers with pallets prepared for installation, communicate nuance with installers for unique materials

• Develop and improve tools and methods for efficient material planning and purchasing.

• Collaborate effectively with design, sales, and production teams to ensure project success.

• Communicate material status to stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements:

• Highly qualified Purchaser/Warehouse would have:

  • At least 1 year of experience in purchasing and 2 years experience in inventory or warehouse management. 

  • Demonstrated ability developing processes around procurement and communication

  • Experience in a construction related field

  • Experience working in an office environment, and able to lift 80 lbs from the ground to your waist

  • Certified forklift operator

• Minimally qualified Purchaser/Warehouse would have: 

  • Experience with ordering for complex list of materials, and able to identify warehouse materials

  • Ability to think through a process and try out several solutions to a problem

  • Knowledge of construction materials

  • Experience working on computers, and able to lift 80 lbs from the ground to your waist.

  • Able to earn forklift certification

Compensation: 

• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Ranging from $18-$28 / hour

• 2 weeks paid vacation per year
