The Albers Graduate LTA advising specialist will work as part of a dynamic, student-oriented advising team, on projects related to the calendar unification project and student retention. The LTA advising specialist role requires creativity, attention to detail, and comfort learning and teaching new technology. This Limited Term Appointment (LTA) position is expected to end on June 30, 2028.**Position Description:****Support Academic Planning through Semester Transition** (40%)* Assist with the review and creation of quarter-to-semester transition materials (excel files, curriculum flowcharts, sample degree plans, course translation guides, etc.)* Publish and maintain files in Albers SharePoint intranet site.* Accurately track student progress through Excel, Program Evaluations, and Bower BI tools.* Support creation and revision of academic plans for Albers graduate students that integrate their completed courses on the quarter system with their future required courses in the semester system to ensure degree requirements are met for an on-time graduation.* Investigate and understand the degree requirements under both quarter and semester calendars for the degrees represented in the Albers graduate programs.* Provide notes to inform Albers graduate advisors of decisions and questions for their review with students.* Learn and operate the degree planning software in both Colleague and Workday. Provide technical support for Albers graduate advisors in learning the new platform (Workday).* Identify potential irregularities and inaccuracies within the software implementation and/or course scheduling and report to supervisor.* After registration, review student schedules term by term to ensure individual academic plans are followed; flag any students who deviate from their plan for their assigned Albers graduate advisor.**Student Outreach** (15%)* Participate in email and phone-calling campaigns and other forms of student outreach, using the Slate CRM platform.* Assist Albers graduate advisors with outreach to their student caseloads for the purpose of scheduling meetings, providing information, or seeking student input.**Student Programming and Communications** (20%)* With direction from the Albers Senior Advisor, develop and implement strategies for informing students about academic advising, and student responsibilities around these key transitions.* In coordination with the Marketing and Communications office, assist to create informative content for, internal and external websites, and print materials.* Assist with the coordination and organization of events for students, including Registration workshops and Academic Planning /Calendar Unification information sessions.* Coordinate logistical arrangements for events, meetings and workshops, including room reservations, setup, electronic registrations, tech support needs, and catering.**Administrative support** (25%)* Support Albers Grad Advising in responding to student inquiries.* Inform students on academic forms, processes, procedures, and resources related to SU and the school/college.* Support scheduling Albers graduate advisor-student appointments.* Assist with the coordination and dissemination of information to support student success.* Outreach to students who are required to meet with an advisor for Education Plan approval, Academic Standing, and other circumstances.**Other Duties as Assigned*** Respond to changing needs and tasks with flexibility and creativity.**Compensation at a Glance**$52,000 - $55,000 **Application Instructions** Please attach a cover letter with your resume when applying.
