Role Description This full-time Mortgage Loan Originator role is a hybrid position based in San Juan, allowing some work-from-home flexibility. The Mortgage Loan Originator will identify and develop new mortgage business opportunities, build and maintain relationships with borrowers, real estate agents, and referral partners, and guide clients through the loan application and approval process. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and analyzing borrower financial information, recommending appropriate loan products, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with company and regulatory standards. The role also involves providing clear explanations of loan terms, rates, and closing costs, tracking loans through the pipeline, and delivering a high level of customer service from initial contact through closing. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Mortgage Lending and Loans, with a solid understanding of mortgage products and regulatory requirements. Candidates should possess expertise in Loan Origination, including prospecting, client consultation, and managing the end-to-end loan process. Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of Finance, including income analysis, credit evaluation, and debt-to-income calculations. Relevant qualifications include prior experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator or in a similar lending role, preferably in the Puerto Rico or Florida markets. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and build trust with diverse clients. Familiarity with mortgage origination software and CRM tools, along with strong organizational and time-management skills.
