Description: Data collection completed. Unit has 36 beds and 40 staff members. Day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, and 1 unit secretary. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, and 1 unit secretary. Patient ratios are 4 patients per nurse. Unit is a full-service emergency department. It operates at trauma level 4, is a primary PCI facility, and is a certified primary stroke center. Commonly used electronic medical record systems include Meditech Magic and Expanse. Candidates with experience in post-operative and organ donor patient care are preferred. Skill in evidence-based practice and process improvement is desirable. Strong patient and family education and communication skills are important. Experience in multidisciplinary care coordination is beneficial. Familiarity with ICU protocols such as AIDET, bedside shift report, and safety rounding is preferred. Typical procedures performed include mechanical ventilation management and weaning. Candidates will perform hemodynamic monitoring, arterial line placements, and critical care infusions. Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation are key components of the role. Immediate post-operative patient care is required. Candidates must be calm and effective in high-stress, fast-paced environments. Strong communication and active listening skills are essential. A team-oriented and collaborative approach is necessary. Candidates should exhibit patient-centered and compassionate care. The ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands is crucial. All staff must adhere to unit policies and guidelines regarding conduct and evidence-based practices. Compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements is expected. Patient-centered care and advocacy are emphasized across all interactions. Rotating weekends are required; there are no on-call shifts.
