OB/GYN Hospitalist - Casual

Location: 303 Catlin St., Buffalo, MN 55313-1947 Job Summary Our Women's Health Clinical Service Line provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care including labor & delivery, antepartum and postpartum units, triage areas, and emergency services. Key Responsibilities Provide in‑house obstetrical coverage of the labor and delivery unit, antepartum and postpartum units, and triage area. Deliver emergency cesarean sections, spontaneous vaginal or operative vaginal births, and postpartum tubal ligations. Round on antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients and manage overall care for patients without an assigned physician. Offer backup support and surgical assistance to staff obstetricians as needed. Manage GYN concerns arising from the Emergency Department and perform basic gynecologic surgery (dilation & curettage and laparoscopy). Practice with cultural diversity, individual autonomy, and legal responsibilities in mind. Actively participate in multidisciplinary team case management. Qualifications MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required. OBGYN BE/BC with ABMS or AOA. Active, non‑restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain). Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI). Meet criteria for credentialing and hospital privileges. Current BLS certification with AHA, ARC or Allina in‑house BLS training within 30 days of hire. Physical Demands Medium. Lifting weight up to 32 lbs occasionally, up to 25 lbs frequently.
