Description
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
Our Mission:
At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.
Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.
About VMEC:
The Vehicle Motion and Embedded Controls (VMEC) organization is at the center of technologies that enable every GM vehicle to move, turn, change height, and stop. VMEC is responsible for the development and deployment of complex, physics based embedded controls and software products specific to propulsion and chassis control systems. These controls and software products support cutting edge features, such as Suspension Ride Height, Damping, Steering, Braking, and Holistic Vehicle Motion Control. We are moving fast to design, build, and deliver engaging and meaningful in-vehicle experiences! You can flex your teamwork muscles as you will be tasked with working with several other areas of engineering and the business.
Why Work For VMEC:
We do cool stuff! We are passionate about building high quality systems that solve complex problems on an extensive scale. Our team is inclusive, made up of forward-thinking engineers who enjoy working together to develop innovative solutions in an environment where new ideas and unique perspectives are embraced. Our business is fast paced and constantly evolving to provide new features and capabilities to market, while conforming to global regulations. We are seeking creative, highly motivated, agile thinkers with passion and expertise in Controls and Software to lead technical teams within our Suspension Controls and Software department. This role will enable you to have a direct impact on current and future GM vehicles.
The Role:
As a Scrum Manger in Suspension Controls, you will lead an agile scrum team that is responsible for the analysis, design, coding, and testing of Suspension Controls features such as Ride Height, Damping, and Off-Road features. As a Scrum Manager, you are responsible for maximizing the value of the output of the agile scrum team, serving as the customer proxy, and ensuring the team understands and implements solution intent within the business context all while ensuring that software is delivered with world class quality. In the role of Scrum Manager, you will be collaborating with several other areas of engineering and the business (Engineering Stakeholders, Customers, and the Product Teams) to define, scope, and breakdown technical solutions into work items for the team. This role requires a high level of technical and innovative leadership. The selected candidates will lead the development of controls and diagnostics within an agile environment, using appropriate common methods for VMEC features and lead the growth in capability of controls and diagnostic methods to launch General Motors to the forefront of technology in the Suspension space.
