Schedule/Shift

Night Shift, 19:00 to 07:30, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekend hours are required every other weekend and as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in our Detox unit will provide specialized care to patients undergoing detoxification and treatment for substance abuse, including polysubstance abuse and ETOH. This role involves managing patient care for individuals aged 18 to geriatric, with occasional care for 17-year-old patients. You will utilize various treatment protocols, including medication tapers and emergency interventions as required, while maintaining documentation in HMS/Medhost.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in compliance with unit standards.
• Conduct bedside shift reports and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and provide treatment for various conditions including hypertension, seizures, and cognitive changes.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including routine and rescue medications.
• Assist with bedside procedures, including IV access and medication administration.
• Engage in patient education and support recovery efforts.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience is required, with 5 years preferred.
• Experience in Detox or Emergency Room settings is highly desirable.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse license in Tennessee.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required prior to start, with additional training for "Handle with Care" after hire.
• All Clinical Staff must pass a check against the Tennessee Abuse Registry before starting their assignment.
