RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop a highly reliable and scalable enterprise data platform empowering users to ingest, process, store, and query at petabyte-scaleCreate new functionality and end-to-end data pipelines that improve how the business at SpaceX operatesCollaborate with peers on architecture, design, and code reviewsBuild prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraintsOwn all aspects of software engineering and product developmentDeep dive into business problems, find efficient solutions and apply first principles thinkingBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree1+ years of experience in full stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data sciencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Programming experience in Scala, Java, C#, Python, Go or similar languagesFrontend experience in Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworksExperience optimizing in-stream, big data processing and analytics frameworks like Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, or similarExperience with relational and non-relational databases, data lakes e.g. Hive, Delta Lake, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB or similarExperience with data exploration tools like Grafana, Metabase, PowerBI or similarGood understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment and monitoringGood understanding of statistics, machine learning algorithms and frameworksADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Willing to work extended hours and weekends when neededCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay Range: Software Engineer/Level I: $125,000.00 - $165,000.00/per yearSoftware Engineer/Level II: $145,000.00 - $200,000.00/per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
